Today is International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers. A great way to show support is to encourage members of Congress to co-sponsor and support the Safe Sex Workers Study Act, introduced by Reps. Ro Khanna and Barbara Lee and Senators Elizabeth Warren and Ron Wyden.

For more, read this press release from Congressman Khanna’s office.

As always, the Positive Women’s Network (USA) is helping to lead the charge, and you can read their press release, and the bills and advocacy they support, here.

Activist and sex worker Jacen Zhu is also stepping up, hosting a talk on violence against sex workers.

You can read my interview with Jacen here.

Sex workers around the globe have been on the forefront of HIV education and advocacy. Protecting their rights and physical safety should be a given, and anything you can do to amplify the message above would be greatly appreciated.
